Applications for scholarships for 2025-26 are now closed. Applications for 2026-27 will open on April 1 and will be due by June 30 for Fall ’26 scholarship awards, and December 31 for Spring ’27 awards.

Each scholarship has a specific set of criteria to determine eligibility.

To apply, students must log in by selecting the red “Sign In” button above using their Empire State University e-mail address and password and submit the General Application. Upon completion of the General Application, you will be automatically matched with scholarships for which you meet the criteria. After submitting the General Application, students will have the ability to submit supplemental information for any scholarships that require additional materials by selecting the red “Apply” button next to each individual opportunity.

To be eligible for SUNY Empire Foundation scholarships, students must meet the following criteria unless otherwise indicated in the scholarship-specific guidelines:

• Many of our scholarships are need-based, and to qualify, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and have financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Students who are ineligible to submit a FAFSA may contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@sunyempire.edu for an alternate means to determine financial need.
• Student must be matriculated and have completed at least eight (8) credits with Empire State University
• Student must have the appropriate GPA indicating successful academic progress
• Student must have completed at least 80% of the coursework they have enrolled in (Note: No more than 20% of courses can be incompletes, no credits, administrative withdrawals, etc.)
• Both part-time and full-time students are eligible

Questions: Indicates that additional application information will be required. To apply for these opportunities, students must first submit a General Application, then may submit an application via Recommended Opportunities under the Opportunities tab.

Deadline: The date by which applications are due in order to be considered.

Award: The amount stated is for general information purposes and not a guarantee of what you may receive if awarded. Actual award amounts can vary. Students selected to receive scholarships will be notified via e-mail to their SUNY Empire address.

Actions: The majority of our scholarships require only the General Application to apply; these indicate “None” under “Action”. A limited number of scholarships require additional information for consideration; these indicate “Apply” under “Action”. These additional scholarships can be accessed after submitting the General Application, by viewing Recommended Opportunities under the Opportunities tab.
