Mary Wilt ’87 Scholarship

With gratitude to Mary’s son John Wilt.

The Mary C. Wilt Scholarship was established to assist students in the Genesee Valley who have demonstrated academic excellence and community and civic involvement in pursuit of their education. Mary Wilt received her degree from Empire State College in 1987, at the age of 70. A daughter of Italian immigrants, she was the first Italian student admitted to the Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing. She was a lifelong champion for women’s rights, with a successful nursing career and a large, loving family. Mrs. Wilt passed away in April 2013 at the age of 96.
