Nancy A. McLachlin '81
Nancy McLachlin (1934-2019) grew up in Florida and began her business career working in the manufacturing sector in Michigan in the 1950s. She moved to Rochester, NY in the mid 60s, ultimately working as the head of purchasing and human resources for a wood office furniture manufacturer. After retirement, she stayed active in the local Rochester community, including gardening, reading and doing consulting work. Nancy attended the Genesee Valley location of SUNY Empire, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics in 1981. She passed away in 2019 and established the Nancy A. McLachlin ’81 Scholarship through her estate.
Impact
Established in 2019 through the estate of alumna Nancy A. McLachlin ‘81. The scholarship is available to students residing in the Genesee Valley region who meet the Empire State College Foundation’s scholarship eligibility criteria. Preference is given to single parents with demonstrated financial need.
