Dorothy Burnham Scholarship

Established in 2022 through the generosity of former colleagues and friends of Dorothy Burnham in celebration of her 107th birthday. Dorothy Burnham is a longtime civil rights advocate and former SUNY Empire State faculty member. The scholarship will be awarded to students studying in the areas in which Dorothy worked, including Science, Technology and Mathematics; Community and Human Services; and Nursing and Allied Health, with a preference for African-American women enrolled in those programs. The scholarship is available to students who meet the SUNY Empire Foundation’s scholarship eligibility criteria.
