Dr. Lorraine Peeler '88 Opportunity Scholarship
Established in 2014 through the generosity of Simone Peeler Ragland, in honor of her late aunt, Dr. Lorraine Peeler. Dr. Peeler was a mentor and alumna at the Niagara Frontier Center. The scholarship is available to undergraduate or graduate students with demonstrated financial need residing in the Niagara Frontier region (Erie, Alleghany, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties) who left high school more than twelve years earlier (age 32+). Secondary consideration is given to students who are pursuing a degree in Social & Public Policy, Community & Human Services, or Human Development; are committed to working on behalf of addressing educational disparities; eliminating barriers to equal opportunity and access; promoting justice and equity; and/or promoting the inclusion of all individuals regardless of identity or background; or have a lived experience that reflects expertise, ability to contribute toprogrammatic aims associated with better learning outcomes amongstudents who have different perspectives and backgrounds.
