Ortiz Family Scholarship

The Ortiz Family Scholarship is established to support students in the Master of Arts in Teaching program pursuing careers as K-12 educators. This scholarship will be awarded with preference to students with unmet financial need in the MAT program. Secondary consideration is given to students who live in an economically disadvantaged community; are committed to working on behalf of addressing educational disparities, eliminating barriers to equal opportunity and access, promoting justice and equity, and/or promoting the inclusion of all individuals regardless of identity or background; or have a lived experience that reflects expertise, ability to contribute to programmatic aims associated with better learning outcomes among students who have different perspectives and backgrounds.
